Thought For Today: “Forgiveness Brings Peace”

“Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.” (Psalm 32:1-2)

While King David knew the peace forgiveness brings, he also knew the other side, and that is when he kept his sin to himself and didn’t confess it, there was no peace.

“When I kept silent, my bones grew old through my groaning all the day long. For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; my vitality was turned into the drought of summer.” (Psalm 32:3-4)

David reveals that unconfessed sin directly affects our physical condition. It places tremendous stress on us, and it feels like our life is draining away.

So, when we come to that place where we recognize our sinful condition, confess it by faith, and place our complete trust in Him, we’ll have peace knowing that our sins have been forgiven.
