Thought for Today: “Fixed”
God wants us to fix our hearts squarely upon Him and quit allowing the circumstances that arise in our lives to blow us out of the water.
David wasn’t one of those fair weathered believers that when things don’t go their way they get blown away. The seed was planted deep within the good soil of his heart.
In Psalm 57 David talks about those whose sole purpose was to eat him alive surrounded him on all sides. But he also knew of God great grace and mercy, and so instead of fixing he eyes upon the circumstances, he fixed his eyes upon the Lord.
“My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and give praise.” (Psalm 57:7)
The writer of Hebrews tells us that in the race set before us we are to keep “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.” (Hebrews 12:2)
Let’s fix our focus on this upcoming Sunday as we celebrate the resurrection of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.
