Thursday’s Thought: “Faith To Go”
Faith is moving into the unknown. This is the classic definition of faith.
The writer of Hebrews in his chapter on faith said, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)
And while faith is moving into the unknown, it is also knowing that God will never leave or forsake us and will lead us into His promises.
The writer of Hebrews goes on to say this very thing about Abraham.
“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.” (Hebrews 11:8)
We see this call back in Genesis 12:1 where the Lord said to Abraham, “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you.” (Genesis 12:1)
And so, we need to be strong in our faith and believe in God and what He calls us for us to do, because He will keep us and never leave or forsake us.
“He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ So we may boldly say: ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?’” (Hebrews 13:5-6)
