Thought for Today: “Enoch’s Walk of Faith”
Most of us struggle to come to grips with what’s going on around us or with what’s most important until we have a divine encounter. Only then do we realize that all the things we were so worried about aren’t that important.
When a person contracts cancer or some other potentially fatal disease, all those things that once bothered them are no longer the primary concern. Therefore, it all boils down to a couple of things, well, just one that’s really the most important, which is a genuine, vibrant, and honest relationship with Jesus Christ.
In Genesis, we’re introduced to a man named Enoch whose walk with God was so pure, so vibrant, and so honest that to God, it was all about this.
There are only 13 words, yet in them we find a faith so powerful and vibrant that God couldn’t wait any longer.
“And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.” (Genesis 5:24)
Although Enoch is mentioned only a handful of times throughout the Bible, he was blessed with one of the most remarkable distinctions and testimonies ever given, namely that he walked with God. Then, suddenly, he disappeared because God took him to where He is.
