Thought For Today: “Christ Comes in the Midst of Crisis”

Three young Jewish men learned that obedience is far greater than compromise, because it brings Christ into the crisis.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow to the golden image of King Nebuchadnezzar. As a punishment for their insolence the King had them thrown into a blazing hot furnace, but instead burning up, the only thing that got incinerated was what bound them.

When King Nebuchadnezzar went to view their remains, he saw four men walking around in the midst of the furnace, and he said that “One of them had the appearance of the Son of God” (Daniel 3:25).

Jesus Christ appeared in the midst of their crisis.

Whatever the crisis, bring Jesus into it. Commit to walk in obedience to God, and no longer compromise to the world or its standards, and then we’ll see God work His miracles as Jesus walks with us in and through them all.
