A Scripture and a Prayer: “Blessed Reproach”

“If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.” (1 Peter 4:14)

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, You said, “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” And now here, we are told that the blessing is the Holy Spirit will rest upon us, just like in creation when the Holy Spirit maintained what the Father and Jesus had created. And so, let us not be ashamed of either You or the gospel message that You came and died for, so that everyone who believes can have eternal life. Give us, therefore, the courage to continue to move forward in Kingdom of God business, and not shy away because of what others might say or do. AMEN
