A Scripture and a Prayer: “Being a Servant First”
“He who is greatest among you, let him be as the younger, and he who governs as he who serves.” (Luke 22:26)
Prayer:
Lord, we are no different now, than the disciples were back then, because we often struggle with this same thing. We see others and how great their ministry may be, and we want to be the same or greater. Now, we often say that it is for Your glory, but far too often it is all about our glory instead. Teach us, therefore, to be a servant, because in Your eyes, it is when we serve others that we are doing Your work, being Your hands and feet to those who are in desperate need of Your touch. Change, therefore, our perspective, and then we’ll see and participate in Your great work, and You Kingdom upon this earth. AMEN
