Thoughts For Today: “Aligning With God”

We receive God’s blessing and wisdom only when we align our hearts with His. Solomon knew the path of realignment started with God.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Acknowledge in the Hebrew language means to get to know someone in an intimate way. The way a husband or wife gets to know their spouse. So, when we stop trying to do everything ourselves, and get to know God more intimately, then He’ll realign our lives and get us back on track.

In this unbelievably stress-filled world, a world that distracts more than defines where many are drifting aimlessly along, we need to get our priorities in line to live full, productive, and effective lives. We do this by getting spiritually realigned with God, to His word, His will, and His way. If we don’t, we’ll find ourselves out of balance and drifting dangerously close to the edge.

May the prayer spoken by the Apostle Paul over the church in Philippi be ours.

“And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.” (Philippians 1:9-11)
