Today’s Devotional: “A Power that Exceeds Expectations”

Have you ever had your expectations shattered? Like when you order something online, and it turns out to be different once it arrives?

But this is not true of God. With God, you receive it all and more. With God, your sins are forgiven, and heaven is waiting after this life ends.

But what about right now?

God doesn’t leave you to figure it out alone. He gives you His Son and promises that you can stay strong during tough times with Jesus, who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13). God also gives you the Holy Spirit, who lives inside to help you through these moments, and then He does wonderful and amazing things beyond that.

This is the essence of God’s promise: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” (Ephesians 3:20)

The power within us includes not only Jesus Christ but also the Holy Spirit. “Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” (1 Corinthians 6:19)

And so, the Holy Spirit dwells within us, and because of His wonderful and marvelous power and love toward us, He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above what you expect.

What a powerful phrase to describe His love and power: “exceedingly abundantly.” The Holy Spirit doesn’t just do exceedingly or abundantly above, but exceedingly abundantly above.

With the Holy Spirit’s power, we can do more than we imagine and expect. So don’t limit God; instead, trust and move forward in His full power that exceeds expectations.
