Thought For Today: “God’s Love On Display”

“Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck and write them on the tablet of your heart.” (Proverbs 3:3)

I cannot tell you how many marriages I’ve performed, but what strikes me most is the question, “Do they really love each other the way God loves us?” And then I wonder, what about me?

Keeping our vows displays the power of God’s love within us. It shows everyone that God loves us, and that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

Has better turned into worse? Has richer turned into poorer? Has good health turned into sickness and disease? No matter what, let’s remain committed to one another. Let’s bind love and faithfulness to our fingers in the rings we wear, and let that love be written on the tablets of our hearts, right next to Christ’s love for us.
