Don’t Overlook God’s House

Thought For Today: “Don’t Overlook God’s House”

In doing God’s work, nothing is inconsequential or unimportant.

When making arrangements for the Temple, David neglected nothing. Not only were the priests and Levites chosen for the daily sacrifices, but also those who would be the singers, those who would be standing watch, and even the porters, who were charged with watching over the storehouses.

Everyone was needed for the house of God to function as God intended, and nothing connected to its service was considered unimportant. Everything was sacred.

Much of this is missing in today’s church. People think it’s always someone else’s responsibility when it comes to the ministries, the upkeep, and maintenance.

Yet, for every soul saved, everyone has a part in it, from those who clean the church to those who serve in the children’s ministry, even those who pass out bulletins. Each person has a hand in every person who comes to faith during a church service.

Jesus said, “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20)

The local church is the place where Jesus chose, so let’s all join together with Him and keep His home a place that honors Him, not only in our time of worship, but also in our upkeep of what is His.
