Thought for Today: “A Resurrection Faith”

“If Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!” (1 Corinthians 15:17)

If there was no resurrection, and Jesus didn’t rise from the dead, then our faith in Jesus is pointless and has no meaning.

It is in this one area that all religions of the world can never fulfill their claim of salvation and eternal life.

You see, they worship and follow those who have died and stay dead. But not so with Jesus.

Outside the tomb where they laid Jesus’s body, two angels encountered the women who had come to finish anointing His body. The angels asked, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen!” (Luke 24:5-6)

Jesus said, “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.” (Revelation 1:18)

And so, it is a resurrection faith that saves and grants eternal life in heaven.

“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
