Thought For Today: “Making Heavenly Room Reservations”

Heaven is the home every human heart longs for, so the question becomes, “How can I make my reservations?”

This was the disciple Thomas’s inquiry. Jesus had just said He was preparing a special place for everyone who believes in Him.

“You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?” (John 14:1b-2)

Jesus says He has designed a special place for each of us, a place with each of us in mind.

So eager was Thomas for this offer that he didn’t want to miss out, so he said, “How can I make these reservations?” (John 14:5 paraphrased)

And so, Jesus made it clear that such heavenly reservations can only be made through Him.

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
