Thought For Today: “Let the Holy Spirit Guide”

The Holy Spirit will, if permitted, guide us in every part of life. To guide means the Holy Spirit will lead us; He will show us the way we should walk and live in this world.

Jesus said, “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not be presenting his own ideas; he will be telling you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.” (John 16:13)

One of the primary ways the Holy Spirit guides us is through God’s word, the Bible, which He inspired.

The Apostle Peter explains the Holy Spirit’s inspiration, saying, “No prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophets themselves … It was the Holy Spirit who moved the prophets to speak from God.” (2 Peter 1:20-21)

And Jesus said He would send us the Holy Spirit to help us in God’s word, reminding us as we go.

He said, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” (John 14:26)

Therefore, as a dependable guide through life, we need to seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance in everything we do and ask Him to open God’s word to help us along the way.
