Thought for Today: “Being A Dedicated Disciple”

There are no casual Christians. It takes purpose and dedication to be a disciple.

“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” (Luke 9:23)

We have to purpose in our hearts to follow Christ, or else we’ll follow the path set by the world.

Daniel decided to dedicate himself to the service of God even as he served the king of Babylon.

“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies.” (Daniel 1:8a)

God honored Daniel’s dedication by giving him knowledge and wisdom beyond that of all the wise men of Babylon (Daniel 1:20).

In short, God honors those who honor Him.
