Thought For Today: “The Few the Faithful”
God never leaves Himself without a witness on the earth. They are called “The Remnant.” While the word can mean leftovers or worthless scraps, God gives this title great value when it refers to those who believe in Jesus Christ and those who remain faithful during difficult times.
When Elijah Despaired, thinking he was the only faithful in Israel, God had to remind him that Others had not bowed down to Baal (1 Kings 19:14-18).
The Lord said, “Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.” (1 Kings 19:18)
God is looking for people whose hearts are fully devoted to Him, so He can show Himself strong on their behalf.
The Bible says, “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” (2 Chronicles 16:9)
Today, let’s search our hearts, or better yet, let the Lord search our hearts and reveal where we have fallen short so we can confess, repent, and be part of the few and faithful (Psalm 139:23-24).
