Thought For Today: “Wrongly Focused”
We live in a nation that is growing spiritually darker by the minute. Wickedness is increasing. Perversions are multiplying. Morals are disappearing. And the nation is opposing the Bible along with Christians who hold to its truth.
It’s hard to imagine how things could possibly get much worse. But it shouldn’t surprise us when they do; instead, it should indict us as Christians.
The problem doesn’t lie in the darkness; instead, the problem is in the light. When the light shines, darkness flees. Therefore, the ever-increasing darkness we are experiencing is because our light is not shining brightly enough.
Jesus said we are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14-16). But when the light of Christ has been dimmed by sin and the cares of this world; that’s when the darkness increases.
The healing of our nation is waiting upon the repentance of God’s people (2 Chronicles 7:14). Therefore, we need to get on our knees, confess our sins, ask God to forgive us, and repent, that is, turn back to the will and the ways of God.
We need to stop looking at all the wrong within our nation and the ever-spreading darkness
