Thought For Today: “Leave the Choice to God”
When considering our next move, or what God desires for us to do, take this advice. Leave the choice to God. He knows what is best.
Lot chose what he thought was best based on human understanding, but Abraham trusted in God and God gave Him all the land, including the land chosen by Lot.
“And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: ‘Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever.’” (Genesis 13:14-15)
The truth of the matter is that we have no final rights or any possessions other than what has been given by God. The person who by faith leaves the choices to God is the one whom will receive what is best.
The Lord makes this clear saying, “‘For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,’ says the Lord. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.’” (Isaiah 55:8-9)
Consider the Shepherd’s prayer of David. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake…” (Psalm 23:1-3)
