Thought For Today: “Squeezed for God”
When you squeeze an orange, you get orange juice. When you squeeze a grapefruit, you get grapefruit juice. But when we are squeezed by the pressures of the day what comes out?
Answer: Whatever we are full of. Hopefully, it is Jesus.
Death Valley used to be a large lake. But what I am told happened is that it wasn’t the water flowing in that dried up, but the water in the lake continued to flow out. Eventually, it dried up.
The lesson: Don’t allow the inflow of God’s word and the Holy Spirit to stop. Daily get into God’s word and pray. Then you will be a source of strength and compassion to a very needy world.
“With eyes wide open to the mercies of God, I beg you, my brothers, as an act of intelligent worship, to give him your bodies, as a living sacrifice, consecrated to him and acceptable by him. Don’t let the world around you squeeze you into its own mold, but let God re-mold your minds from within, so that you may prove in practice that the plan of God for you is good, meets all his demands and moves towards the goal of true maturity.” (Romans 12:1-2 Phillips)
