Thought For Today: “Why So Worried?”
With everything going on along with the various trials that have been going on in our lives, along with all that is going on in our country and world, many are feeling a bit stressed if not overwhelmed.
It is at these times we need to look to God and to His word. When this happened to me, I saw a picture of a sparrow and the Lord spoke these Scriptures into my heart.
“Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” (Matthew 6:26)
“But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” (Luke 12:7)
When we feel stressed and overwhelmed, let’s turn our focus upon Jesus, who said, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.” (Matthew 6:33-34)
So, physically, emotionally, and spiritually it doesn’t make sense to worry when we can give it over to God, who will help us through.
“Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” (Psalm 55:22)
