Thought For Today: “Who Owes Whom”
We owe God everything while He owes us nothing.
While the Lord says in Joel 2:18-27 that He will restore the years the locusts have eaten, and we will be satisfied in full as He sends the former and later rain, and as the Apostle Paul says in 2 Corinthians 1:20 that while the Lord gives great and precious promises and all His promises are yes and true, the reality is that God owes us nothing, but has given to us everything, forgiveness of sin, salvation, and an eternity in heaven through Jesus’s death, burial, and resurrection, and giving us the Holy Spirit.
In fact, I love what the Apostle Peter says in his second letter when it comes to what God has given to us.
“His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises.” (2 Peter 1:3-4)
Therefore, we are the ones who owe God everything because of everything He has so graciously given to us.
