Thought for Today: “All About the Lamb”
It begins and ends with the Lamb.
“And Samuel took a suckling lamb and offered it as a whole burnt offering to the Lord. Then Samuel cried out to the Lord for Israel, and the Lord answered him.” (1 Samuel 7:9)
When Samuel sacrificed the lamb, and prayed for deliverance, the Lord thundered from heaven and routed the enemy all the way to Beth Car.
The spiritual significance cannot be overlooked.
Jesus, the Lamb of God, became our sacrifice upon the cross, and for all those who accept Him as their Savior and Lord, God routs the enemy of our soul, Satan, all the way to Beth Car, which means, “House of the Lamb.”
From the cross of Christ to His house in heaven where He prepares a place for us, what waits for those who believe is His power to live lives of godliness, and the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue (2 Peter 1:2-3).
