Thought for Today: “Restored and Repurposed”

“Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12)

Asking God to help us number our days is not a game; it’s a sure bet. Therefore, we need to ask the Lord for the wisdom to restore and repurpose our lives.

“Restore us to yourself, O Lord, that we may return; renew our days as in days of old.” (Lamentations 5:21)

God takes broken people and puts them back together according to His original design. Put another way, God is in the business of human restoration.

To restore means to mend, as in mending broken nets or resetting a broken bone. God’s restoration means He takes those broken by sin and brings them back into a right relationship with Him through His Son, Jesus Christ, and what He did on the cross.

God wants to restore what has been lost.

Is part of you missing? Are you broken and in need of mending? God wants to restore you.

Let’s ask God to forgive us and turn us back to Him, and then He’ll not only restore us but also repurpose us, that is, give purpose back to our lives.
