Thought For Today: “You’re Not Alone”

No matter what we may be going through, please know we are not alone, God is with us, and He’ll never leave us alone.

“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

Jesus makes this wonderful promise. “I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” (John 14:18)

What a great promise Jesus gives, and what it says to us is that we can be assured that He will return, but while we wait, the promise is that He will never leave nor forsake us in this world, or as He said, leave us as orphans.

And He does so through the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Just prior to his promise not to leave us as orphans, Jesus said, “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever, the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.” (John 14:16-17)
