A Scripture and a Prayer: “Unity Through Belief”

“I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.” (1 Corinthians 1:10)

Prayer:

Lord, help us to follow Your instruction and become united as believers in Your name. Help us not to allow the traditions of man, nor the various doctrines of the church, keep us from being united. Help us to be united around the name that is above all names, the name of Jesus. Help us stop being divided over politics, personalities, or personal preferences as to worship and teaching styles. Help unite us as You instructed so that there will be no division among us as we strive for restoration and to be ‘perfectly’ united in mind and thought (1 Cor. 1:10; 2 Cor. 13:11). And help us show this unity to the world, so that by our love for each other, everyone will know we are Your disciples (John 13:35). And we ask this in Your name, Lord Jesus. AMEN
