Today’s Thought: “Trust God’s Promises”
God’s promises are different from the promises given by humanity, because not only are God’s promises true, but they are never exhausted.
Humanity’s promises are like a mountain stream that flows when there’s been snow but dries up in the summer. At best humanity’s promises are seasonal.
But God’s promises are like a never-ending stream of water that continues to deliver year around.
This is what Joshua reminded the children of Israel of before he departed. He wanted to remind them that “Not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.” (Joshua 23:14)
And the Apostle Paul reminds us that “All the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” (2 Corinthians 1:20)
So we can trust in the promises of God that they true and that they will come to pass.
