A Scripture and a Prayer: “The Purpose of Testing”

“In this (your salvation) you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 1:6-7)

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, I want to thank You for the new birth You have given us and the living hope we have through Your Resurrection. As we rejoice and prepare for the glories to come, may we do so with the understanding that while in You we have peace, we will face trials and tribulations in this world. Therefore, we humbly ask You to help us endure these trials as they continue to refine and strengthen our faith in You above all else. We give You all praise, honor, and glory, along with the angels and living creatures surrounding Your throne of grace. And we ask this in Jesus’s name. AMEN
