A Scripture and a Prayer: “Our Peace Giver”

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, You have made it known that in this world filled with sin and all sorts of evil, and that we will have trials and tribulations. But you also ask that we not be anxious or worried, because when we are in You, we can have peace, that peace that You describe as surpassing all our understanding, which means that it is not a peace that has its basis in man, but in You and in You alone. And so, as You overcame this world and the evil that is present in it through Your death and resurrection, I humbly ask that You give an extra measure of the Holy Spirit to give us Your peace that overcomes our worries. Therefore, thank you Jesus for Your love and faithfulness towards us. AMEN
