Tuesday’s Scripture and a Prayer: “Obedience Required”

“Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.” (1 Samuel 15:22)

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, as I look at what the prophet Samuel told Saul, I would like to thank You for the lesson that this teaches, and how we need to listen and obey Your word, rather than just go through the motions of ministry thinking that this sacrifice is sufficient in our worship of You. To listen and obey is an honor and a privilege, and may we never approach Your glorious throne with less than the best, and that is with our complete and total love for You. May the indwelling presence of You, Holy Spirit, lead and guide us into all truth, and help us live our lives in accordance with the truth You have given. AMEN
