A Scripture and a Prayer: “No Pretense in Love”

“Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.” (Romans 12:9)

Prayer:

Lord, we come recognizing that we live in a world filled with deceit, and where true love, Your agape, unconditional love is difficult to find. Help us distance ourselves from everything evil, and may we hate the sin that so permeates our lives. Therefore, may we strive to love others with that same love that You loved us with and fulfill the second part of Your Great Commandment. And may the love we exhibit to this world give You both honor and glory, and may it be a direct reflection of Your mercy and grace. And this we ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN
