Thought For Today: Love God Love Others
Our responsibility for others goes beyond all ordinary standards. Not only are we responsible to do no harm, but also, we are also responsible to prevent harm when it is in our power to do so.
This is seen in a very simple yet profound verse.
“If you see your brother’s ox or sheep straying, do not ignore it but be sure to take it back to him.” (Deuteronomy 22:1)
This is brought out to its fullest extent in Jesus declaration giving us the second part of the Great Commandment, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:29)
What a wonderful world this would be if we followed these rules, which is nothing less than an outworking of our loving God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.
