God is Working It All Out For Good

There are some things nobody wants to experience. These range from a painful divorce, a loss of a child or spouse, to the diagnoses of painful and terminal diseases. These are experiences everyone wishes would never happen in their lifetime.

But the reality is that relationships are between sinful and self-absorbed individuals, and death and disease are what we can expect given humanity’s inauspicious beginning when Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden transferring sin and death unto each succeeding generation.

But God is working out His promises for something that’s good in eternity and His kingdom’s point of view. But even more, it’s something God is working out for our good during this lifetime.

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28 NKJV)

Nowhere does it say all things are good, because clearly there are some experiences that aren’t. There’s nothing good about oneness relationships being split apart because of selfishness and pride. There’s nothing good about losing someone we love, or about a disease that ravishes our bodies.

What this is saying, however, is that God will bring about something positive from out of something negative. And through these times of trials, God is working something out in you.

But God may also be testing your faith’s genuineness.

“(But) now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith … may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 6-7 NKJV)

So consider the Apostle James’ words and let them give solace during these trying times.

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing” (James 1:2-4 NKJV).
