A Scripture and a Prayer: “God’s Not Limited by Our Limitations”

“‘For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,’ says the Lord. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.’” (Isaiah 55:8-9)

Prayer:

Lord, so often we sing and pray for You to lift the chains that bind us, but not realizing that one of those chains are the limits we place upon ourselves. We limit You, Lord, from working in and through our lives because we don’t think we are capable enough, good enough, or that our sins disqualify us from ministry. Basically, we don’t believe that we are worthy enough to be used, and thus we limit ourselves. But You are not limited by our lack of faith. Your promise is that Your thoughts, will, and ways are way above and beyond our own, and that You will see Your work accomplished no matter what our physical, emotional, or spiritual condition may be. Therefore, help now our unbelief and give us the strength to step out and to see ourselves as You see us, and that is, mighty men and women of valor. AMEN
