Scripture and a Prayer: “God’s House Not Ours”

“Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.” (Psalm 127:1)

Prayer:

Lord, this not only is an admonition to pastors and church leaders, that whatever we do, we do it for the Lord, which means that You Lord, are the one who built and guards the church, not us. But this also is for every believer, because the house that is built, and the gates that are guarded, is the Lord’s house that He builds within us, as He said that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, Lord, help us to be faithful to build what You have designed and planned and not what we want and desire. And help guard the gates of our hearts, so the enemy is not given access. And this we ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN
