Today’s 333 Devotional: “God’s Abundant Life”
God’s love extends to everyone, but especially to those who love Him. And the love He extends is great and fits every need that we may have, both physically and spiritually. God’s love brings abundance to all who believe.
This was King David’s take on life when lived in the presence of God.
“How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, and You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light.” (Psalm 36:7-9)
The offer of life extends beyond that of mere protection, but of a life that’s lived in fullness, a life that no one else but God can provide.
God is concerned with every area of our life, and therefore we can safely put our trust in Him. Further, God gives us the key to His house, and access to his refrigerator and pantry. On top of that He quenches our thirst from the river of His pleasure and the fountain of life. And in the end gives us His wisdom to live life by, “Your light we see light.”
This is all available through faith in Jesus Christ, which is seen in Jesus comparison of the life He gives verses the life that we can expect outside of His salvation.
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)
This is the Lord’s invitation. “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost … Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.” (Isaiah 55:1-2)
