Thought For Today: “Forgiveness Expresses Itself”
As Jesus sat down to dinner at Simon the Pharisee’s house, a woman with an unsavory reputation came and knelt down at Jesus feet and poured out the contents of an alabaster jar filled with costly perfume upon them.
She then proceeded to cry uncontrollably allowing her tears to be mingled with the perfume, which she then wiped away with her hair while kissing His feet.
Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven … Your faith has saved you.” (Luke 7:48a, 50a)
What this reveals is that those who truly understand forgiveness possess an attitude of gratitude that expresses itself.
The depth of our gratitude reveals just how much we understand our need for a Savior.
