A Scripture and a Prayer: “Being Filled”

“Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.” (Ephesians 5:18)

Prayer:

Lord, You have called us to not be filled with artificial stimulants to get through the worries and anxieties that come in life. Rather, you have commanded us to be filled with the Holy Spirit, who will then lead and guide us, not only away from the false gods and hopes we cling to but also into Your truth for our lives. And so, when the anxieties come our way, we will pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance so that Your peace that surpasses all understanding will be ours. Holy Spirit, we place ourselves in Your capable hands today. Please give us the knowledge and strength we need. And we ask this in Jesus’s name. AMEN
