A Scripture and a Prayer: “A Hunger for God”
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” (Matthew 5:6)
Prayer:
Lord, I pray that You will find us like deer panting for Your streams of water, panting for You above all of our needs, even for food and water. Thank you for the blessing where we can come at Your invitation to Your table. Jesus, You said, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” (Revelation 3:20). And Lord, we also thank you for this promise, “Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.” (Isaiah 55:1) And so today, we humbly come into Your presence, to your mercy seat, to receive mercy and find grace in this our time of need. AMEN
