Thought For Today: “Don’t Lose Heart”
When we feel abandoned and all alone, know that the Lord will never leave or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6, Hebrews 13:5).
David knew this saying, “Do not leave me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation. When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take care of me.” (Psalm 27:9b-10)
Now look at David’s hope.
“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!” (Psalm 27:13-14)
To the exiles, God gave them this encouragement saying that even though He cast them off, He would always be their sanctuary in the midst of their exile (Ezekiel 11:16).
Therefore, let’s wait upon the Lord and not lose heart, knowing that He cares for us, even though He disciplines us, and that He will never leave or forsake us.
