A Scripture and a Prayer: “A Soul Wait”
“Truly my soul silently waits for God; from Him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.” (Psalm 62:1-2)
Prayer:
Lord, help us to wait upon You. When we want to move given what is going on, and thinking that we must do this or that, help us to first consult You, and get Your take on the situation we’re facing. The reason is that when we move out on our own, we find shifting sand under our feet, threating our downfall. But when we learn to wait, You become that steady rock under our feet, where we’ll be able to stand firm in Your word, in Your will, and in Your ways. Therefore, Lord, give us the patience to wait to hear from You, and in the process help quiet our soul. And this I ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN
