Thought for Today: “A Rebellious Spirit”

I saw this photo and these words on a social media site, and while I posted it because of the impact it made upon me, the Lord wouldn’t let it loose from my soul.

It comes from Proverbs 24:21-22 which says, “My child, fear the Lord and the king. Don’t associate with rebels, for disaster will hit them suddenly. Who knows what punishment will come from the Lord and the king?” (Proverbs 24:21-22)

And what became prominent, was the rebellious spirit that exist within many who call themselves believers in Jesus Christ. And while this may seem impossible, it is enhanced by another spirit, the spirit of deception.

I believe this is why the Apostle John tells us to test the spirits to see whether or not they are from God 

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1)
