A Scripture and a Prayer: “Great Expectations”
“Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him … ‘Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.’” (Revelation 1:7; 22:7)
Prayer:
Since no one knows when this great event will occur, the Lord asks us to be ready and waiting for this blessed hope. Lord Jesus, we humbly ask that You give us a spirit of expectation and anticipation of Your return. May we be like those five virgins who kept their lamps lite as they waited for You, their bridegroom. Even You said, “Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching.” Therefore, may we take Your admonition and watch, not knowing the hour, but knowing the certainty of Your return. And this I ask in Your wonderful name. AMEN
