Thought For Today: “God’s Way”
Over the years I have found that God doesn’t always meet my expectations, and the reality that surrounds me rarely matches my hopes and dreams. It’s not that God doesn’t care or is unable to deliver, it’s because He has got a different path for my life.
“‘For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,’ says the Lord. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.’” (Isaiah 55:8-9)
And so, while I might feel crushed and greatly burdened, God will see me through to the end.
“A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.” (Isaiah 42:3a)
And in the Apostle Paul’s second letter to the Corinthian church, he said, “We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed, always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.” (2 Corinthians 4:8-10)
What God promises is that He will meet me and deliver.
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)
