Thought For Today: “God Nailed It”

When we love someone, we find many ways to show it. We buy gifts and cards proclaiming our undying love. Yet, the divorce rate in our country continues to rise, and domestic violence has increased.

I guess our love is not as undying as we thought.

The Father’s love, however, is undying. God sent His Son, Jesus, to die for us upon the cross. This is true love.

“This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” (1 John 4:10)

You might say that God nailed His love for us upon the cross. It’s an all-giving, all-sacrificing love. It’s not a love that we humans have for one another; rather it goes far beyond it.

In the Apostle John’s Gospel, Jesus said, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
