Scripture and a Prayer: “Greater Love”

“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” (John 15:13)

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank you for such a great love as You took our place and dying for our sins, making us more than Your servants, but making us Your friends. But You went even further in this great love, in that You died for us while we were still in our sins, and as such Your enemy. And it was through this death that You reconciled us and saved our lives. And so, Your great love extends to all, both friend and foe. This then is at the heart and is the essence of the greatest message of all times, the gospel. Therefore, Lord, excite us into action and compel us to take this message out into the world that is in such desperate need for such a great love. AMEN
