Thought For Today: “Walk in Holiness”

Hebrews 12:14 says, “Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.”

The word “see” in this passage means to have a vision. Without holiness, we’ll never get a clear view or vision of God, and we’ll never understand or perceive His ways. The way of holiness, therefore, needs to be traveled.

But what exactly is holiness? Is it living a good and moral life? While this has the basic idea, it comes up short. The word means to be separated from the world and all that is in the world, and then to be set apart for the Lord.

Therefore, since the night is nearly over, and a new day is at hand, let’s wake up to the truth of God’s word and lay aside everything that is hindering our walk with Him. We need the living water of God’s word to cleanse us as we confess and live lives of holiness unto the Lord.

“Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit, for why should you die.” (Ezekiel 18:31)
