Thought for Today: “Come to the Light”

The Bible says that God has rescued us from out of the Kingdom of darkness, and its power over the lives of men, and into the kingdom of light through His Son, Jesus Christ.

“For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” (Colossians 1:13-14)

Of the coming of Jesus, the Bible says, “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.” (Isaiah 9:2)

The Bible then says of Jesus; “In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:4-5)

Therefore, let’s shine of the light of Jesus in everything we say and do so that those who live in darkness, those who live in and for this world, can see the light of God and come into the Kingdom of God.

“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.” (Matthew 5:14-15)
