Thought For Today: “Only With God”
When the tribe of Judah went to take the city of Jerusalem, it doesn’t say they didn’t drive them out, but rather they couldn’t (Joshua 15:63).
The details are missing; but there is a greater truth? Jerusalem was going to be God’s dwelling place, a place set apart for His holy temple. This wasn’t something, however, that men could do on their own. Rather, it was to be a cooperative effort.
Jesus said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” (Luke 18:27)
Through the prophet Zechariah the Lord said, “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit.” (Zechariah 4:6)
The Kingdom of God isn’t something we can move forward on our own, even with all our modern techniques, procedures, nor with our religious traditions and rituals. It can only be forwarded when we work in cooperation with God.
“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase … For we are God’s fellow workers.” (1 Corinthians 3:6, 9a)
