Thought For Today: “Religion Verses Relationship”

What’s amazing is that given enough time religion can actually squeeze the life out of reality. Maybe I can say it this way, religion can suck the life out of our relationship with God.

Throughout time, both before Jesus was born and crucified, and afterwards, religion has taken the wonderful grace God has extended and boxed it up into meaningless and powerless rituals.

Instead, Jesus wants us to bring us into a living loving relationship with Him, so that we will receive grace, mercy, and Holy Spirit power when we come together, so that our times together will have true meaning and bring real peace.

Jesus said, “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 6:1)
