Thought For Today: “Mercy verses Judgment”

God wonderfully tempers His judgments with a great deal of mercy.

Consider Moses. He disobeyed God, and his punishment was that he could not enter the land. So, what did God do? He took him to the top of Mount Nebo and showed him the land of promise.

For you and me, this is a great blessing to know that God wonderfully tempers His judgment against our disobedience and sin with this mercy and grace in sending His Son, Jesus, to take our place, to pay our debt, and to die our death.

We deserve eternal death, but God’s gracious gift is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Bible says, “For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.” (James 2:13)

Can we say, “Praise God.”
